Yasser Abed Rabo, Secretary General of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), confirmed that the two leaders would discuss areas of disagreement ahead of the upcoming Annapolis peace conference, scheduled for later this month. Areas of ocntention are thought tp centre around the future status of Jerusalem, the borders of a future Palestinian state, and the issue of Palestinian refugees. The meeting comes days after the Palestinian negotiating team refused to accept the demand that they recognize Israel as a 'Jewish state,' just as the Israeli team has refused to accept Palestinian demands concerning the imposition of a timetable of implementation. |
