The lawyer stated that the detainees are forced to undergo naked body searches, regularly punished with solitary confinement, and barred from meals. The lawyer reported the conditions after speaking with two detainees, Basim Barham and Mustafa Abed-Rabbo, who reported that they had been forced to fully undress and sit outside for approximately six hours, during which times prison officials took photographs of them. The PPS slammed such attacks, and all ongoing Israeli violations against Palestinian priosners, arguing that they stand in direct violation of international human rights legislation, and calling on the Red Cross and other relevant bodies to immediately intervene in the situation. In related news, underage Palestinian detainees at the Benjamin Israeli prison on Sunday reported that they too were subject to repeated attacks, regularly barred from meals, and regularly had visitation rights revoked. |
