Palestinian residents of the village of Bil'in, located near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, along with international supporters, on Friday marched in protest against the illegal Israeli wall that is being built on village-owned land.

As the protest proceeded, the route was blocked a contingent of Israeli soldiers, shielded behind a wall of razor-sharp barbed wire. On approaching the blockade, Israeli soldiers opened fire with tear gas, rubber-coated steel bullets and sound bombs, injuring five protestors.
Three Palestinian were abducted during the demonstration, only to be released several hours later.
Mustafa Barghouthi, head of the Palestinian National Initiative, attended the protest.
Elsewhere, in Beit Liqia al-Tira, also near Ramallah, villagers protested against the construction of a settler-only road near their homes. Three were detained and released a number of hours later.
