Mizhir: US & Israeli conference-expectations contradictory to Palestinian interests

Jamil MIzhir, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), on Thursday stated that U.S. and Israeli expectations fro the upcoming conference stand in direct contradiction to Palestinian interests.

In a political seminar organized by Hamas media office in the Gaza Strip, Mizhir stated that the American administration wishes to cover its failures in Afghanistan and Iraq in order to improve its image before nationwide elections.

He added that the US administration is attempting to improve public support for President George Bush by imposing pro-Israeli solutions on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, without paying attention to the legitimate rights of Palestinians.

Mizhir also warned that Israel's main goal was further normalization with the Arab world without fully resolving the conflict, adding his belief that Israeli forces will never voluntarily withdraw from
The PFLP member ended with cal for Palestinian unity and for the resumption of talks aimed to bridge the divide between warring factions.
