Issa Qaraq'e, a Palestinian law maker of the Fatah movement and the head of the Palestinian prisoners committee in the Palestinian Legislative Council, on Tuesday stated that Palestinian prisoners are planning to organize protests on the eve of the Annapolis peace conference.

In a letter sent to Qaraq'e, prisoners reminded Palestinian officials that they were an essential component in any future peace deal with the Israeli state, expressing the hope that the Palestinian negotiating team would continue to struggle for their release.

The prisoners also emphasized the importance of the international community's role in resolving their plight, which continues unabated. Prisoners reminded all concerned parties that they continued to face poor conditions, especially with regards to food and medicaine.

Finally, the letter called on conference participants to consider the will of Palestinians, regardless of political affiliation, warning that any political settlement that did not have the support of all Palestinian factions would fail to garner the acceptance of all Palestinian people.
