Mona is demanding to be moved out of solitary and to be transferred to Telmond detention facility for women.

Seema Anbas, in charge of the Detainee’s File at the Detainees Study Center, stated that the Israeli prison authorities transferred Mona to several detention facilities, including prisons used for Israeli women detained for criminal offensives.

Anbas, an ex-detainee, added that Mona is suffering from bad living conditions, and is facing repeated violation by the prison administration.

She added that Anbas was repeatedly attacked by Israeli female prisoners who poured hot water on her and are continuously insulting her and preventing her from sleeping.

Mona is placed in a very small cell, attached to rooms used by Israeli female prisoners. Ventilation in the room is very bad and she developed breathing problems.

It is worth mentioning that Mona was kidnapped by the army more than six years ago, and was chosen by Palestinian female detainees as their spokesperson in section 11 at Ha-Sharon prison.

Ra’fath Hamdouna, head of the Detainees Study Center, stated that the Israeli decision to confine Mona to solitary is very serious since it has significant psychological effects on her.

Hamdouna appealed President Mahmoud Abbas, and the Palestinian Minister of Detainee, Ahsraf Al Ajrami, to intervene and resolve this humanitarian issue. He also voiced appealed to human rights groups to intervene and act in order to ensure that Mona is released from her solitary confinement, and to stop the illegal Israeli policies of solitary confinement.
