Israeli forces prevent elderly man from entering Jerusalem for medical treatment

author Wednesday October 31, 2007 21:50author by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC Report this post to the editors

Local sources reported that Israeli border control refused to allow an elderly Palestinian man entry into Jerusalem for treatment, despite the fact that he has permits from the Israeli occupation authorities which took him months to obtain.

Eissa Abu Rumi, 75, is suffering from a number of illnesses that have deteriorated as he waited for Israeli authorities to approve his permit to go to a specialized hospital in Jerusalem.

He finally received his permit and attempted to cross into Jerusalem, but was denied at the Israeli-installed checkpoint east of Jerusalem.
