The first woman was identified as Fardous Samman, the mother of Mohammad Samman who is wanted for the Israeli security, and Kawthar Abu Diab, the mother of two detainees, Sa’id and Omar Abu Thiab, both imprisoned by Israel since more than six months. The Society stated that Kawthar was previously detained and interrogated for ten days as a sort of psychological pressure on her sons. Also, the society appealed human rights groups and women organizations to intervene for the release of the two aged mothers, and to expose the illegal Israeli practices against the detainees and the Palestinian people. The Israeli army carried repeated abductions of mothers of wanted resistance fighters in order to pressure their sons to surrender. Such conducts come in direct violation to the international law and the basic principles of human rights. Translated by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC |
