Army breaks into detention facility and destroys prisoners' belongings

Israeli soldiers broke into the Nitsan detention facility on Thursday and attacked the detainees severely. The soldiers destroyed detainees' belongings as well as throwing away their food.

This attack followed an incident involving Ramez Dar Mohamad ,a Palestinian detainee who suffers from a psychological disorder. Dar Mohamad stabbed an Israeli officer in the neck with a tool made from a can opener and slightly injured him. The soldiers then attacked him and all the prisoners who were with him at the time

Acording to sources inside the detention facility, members of the Palestinian legislative council imprisoned in Nitsan, held a meeting with the prison administration in a bid to ease the tension. They pointed out that the man who had stabbed the Israeli officer suffers from a psychological disorder.

Ten members of the Palestinian Legislative Council from the Hamas bloc are imprisoned in Nitsan. They include Mohammad Abu Teir , Ahmad Atoun, Mohammad Totah, Anwar Zboun and others who were abducted ealier in the year from their homes in East Jerusalem by Israeli soldiers.
