Hamas sources: “Several prisoners at a P.A prisons hospitalized due to extreme torture”

Sources close to Hamas movement reported on Sunday that a Hamas supporter imprisoned in Al Jneid Palestinian prison, in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, was hospitalized on Sunday afternoon after being extremely tortured by the interrogators. Several other prisoners were recently hospitalized due to torture in Palestinian prisons.

The sources stated that Rasim Al Khattab, 31, was transferred to Rafidia hospital in Nablus.

Eyewitnesses reported that Al Khattab was moved to the hospital by Palestinian security men who covered his face with a black bag but his brother was accidentally at the hospital and managed to identify him by his clothes.

Medical sources reported that Rasim is in a serious condition, and that clear marks of torture are apparent all over his body, adding that when he was hospitalized, he was barely able to talk.

Security men were posted on the door of his hospital room and barred his family from visiting him and from giving him food.

Al Khattab was arrested five days ago after security men broke into a nursing college where he studies and transferred him to Al Jneid prison.

Recently several prisoners, mainly Hamas members and supporters, were transferred to hospital after being tortured by security forces. One of them was identified as Firas Al Zubeidi,  he was moved to the National Hospital in Nablus.

Parents of detainee Abdul-Karim Jarrar, from Kafer Ra’ey village near Jenin, stated that their son was hospitalized after being extremely tortured by Palestinian interrogators.

Also on Sunday, Palestinian security forces arrested head of the Be’er Al Basha village council, south of Jenin when he went to a Palestinian security center after he received an order to head there for questioning.

In Nablus, security forces arrested Abdullah Shqeirat, the brother on Nihad Shqeirat, leader of the Al Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas, who was kidnapped recently by Israeli forces in the city.
