The Israeli police on Friday deployed approximately 4,000 officers around the area of the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, stating that reinforcements were being deployed to counter specific "terror threats."

In line with the heightened level of alert, Israeli sources declared only men of aged 45 and over, and women aged 30 and over, would be permitted entry to the Mosque for Friday prayers.

Today's prayers mark the third Friday prayers of Ramadan.
