Dickinson: The situation is very close to a Humanitarian Disaster in the Gaza Strip

This is an interview with Mr. Roy Dickinson, head of operations at the European Commission in the Occupied Palestinian Territories conducted by George Rishmawi of the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC.ORG) and Kristen Ess, at Palestine News Network (PNN) studios in Bethlehem on September 20, 2007.

In the interview Mr. Dickinson answers questions related to the latest Israeli declaration of the Gaza Strip as a hostile entity, and its inflictions on 1.5 million inhabitance of the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Dickinson says, the EU is looking at this issue with grave concern, yet, no position regarding this issue is formulated. The EU does not want to formulate a position until Israel implements this declaration on the ground.

In the interview Mr. Dickinson also addresses the role of the EU in providing humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip.
