Hasharon holds thousands of Palestinian political detainees. According to the lawyers, four female prisoners have the infection, but there is a fear that it may spread. Detainees reported that those infected have been refused medical attention and access to medicines. It is thought the infection could be the result of the squalid conditions in solitary confinement cells. Then, when detainees are moved from solitary, the infection is spread to other inmates.
