The meeting took place at the five star Intercontinental Jasser Palace Hotel. Also present at the meeting were Dr Khulod Do'ebes, minister for women and tourism, and local government minister, Dr. Ziad Al Bandak.

Sources told IMEMC that Fayyad listened to a report detailing the current position of tourism in Palestine and the difficulties the sector is facing because of travel restrictions imposed by the Israelis and the construction of the illegal Wall around the West Bank.

Dr. Fayyad refused to answer questions about the meeting which took place under a high level of security.
