The Palestinian Union of Agricultural Workers issued a report on Wednesday stating that the Israeli army has destroyed 1250 dunums of agricultural lands belonging to farmers in the Gaza strip.

According to the report, the destruction took place during the repeated Israeli invasions of the Gaza strip that targeted the villages of Al-Fukhari and Jahar Al-Deek last week. The union stated that the destruction caused by the Israeli army during those invasions totalled $4 million USD.

The union called upon the United Nations and international human rights groups to support Palestinian farmers and to stand against Israeli attacks on their lands, which is their only source of livelihood.

The repeated Israeli army attacks on Palestinian civilians and their property contradicts the Fourth Geneva Convention to which Israel is a signatory.
