Translated & Edited By Saed Bannoura - IEMMC The Father stated that his son Ala’, 32, is currently held at the Ramon Israeli prison, and that he and his fellow detainees are facing daily incidents of abuse and attacks carried by the soldiers, in addition to lacking the basic needs such as sufficient food and clothing. The father added that his son needs urgent medical attention since he suffers from severe pain in his eyes as a result of torture since the soldiers used to punch him during interrogation. He added that his other son, Mahmoud, 25, in currently imprisoned at the Negev detention facility and is suffering from breathing problems but is also deprived from his medication rights. The father was deprived from visiting his sons because he was previously detained by Israel. His two sons, as well as thousands of detainees in Israeli prisons, are suffering from bad treatment, repeated attacks and are deprived from their medication rights, in addition to facing extreme torture during interrogation. Moreover, father of detainee Mahmoud Abed Mousa, 25, from Al Khader town near Bethlehem, met with Shiokhy at the Committees’ office in Bethlehem, and told him that his son is suffering from respiratory problems. The father support a family of eight children and cannot work since he was shot and injured by the army in 1968 as he was working in his land near the illegal Israeli settlement of Azar. The settlers also repeatedly attacked him and barred him or his family from entering their land. Meanwhile, Shiokhy voiced an appeal to several human rights groups, the Red Cross, and the international community to intervene and stop the illegal Israeli practices against the detainees, and to provide the detainees with the needed medical treatment. He added that any just solution to the conflict must include the immediate and unconditional release of all Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons and detention facilities. |
