The defense society condemned the Israeli authorities action and called it illegal and an interference in the Palestinian democracy and rights, adding that this action is aimed at destroying the Palestinian freedom of choice and forcing the Israeli agenda on Palestinians.

The kidnapped parliamentarians, mostly Hamas, who have been abducted by the Israeli army after Hamas won the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January 2006, refused to cooperate with this demand and issued a statement saying that they are willing to stay in the Israeli detention camps as long as it takes.

The MP's called upon Palestinian presidents Mahmoud Abbas to other Palestinian MP's to take a farm and clear stand from this Israeli "illegal action".
