Acting Minister of Health slams Israeli attacks in hospitals

The acting Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr. Basim Na’im, slammed on Thursday the Israeli military attacks against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and slammed that military attacks and siege of the National Hospital and the Rafidia hospital in Nablus city, in the northern part of the West Bank.

Dr. Na’im stated that as the army carried a large-scaled offensive in Nablus on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, surrounded several medical centers and targeted ambulances in addition to searching them and obstructing them while in emergency.

Dr. Na’im added that these attacks are direct violations to the international law, and the basic principles of human tights.

Soldiers detained dozens of medics and physicians who were attempting to provide first aid to dozens of injured residents.

“Israel wants the Palestinian people to abandon their legitimate rights”, Dr. Na’im stated, “these attacks will never deter the Palestinians from fighting for their rights”.

Furthermore, Dr. Na’im appealed all human rights and medical groups to intervene in order to pressure the Israeli government to stop its assaults against the Palestinian people, their medical facilities and personnel, and added that the area will witness a real humanitarian disaster if Israel continues these violations while the international community continues to be idle.
