Palestinian institutions in Europe called on all Palestinian factions and groups to stop the internal clashes between Fateh and Hamas gunmen and to initiate comprehensive dialogue among all groups in order to achieve unity and to focus on the Palestinian liberation and independence.

The institutions stated that only internal talks and understanding is the method for unity and for ending the clashes that affected every aspect of the Palestinian society.

“We affirm that our conflict as Palestinians is with the Israeli occupation, and our struggle is against the Israeli attacks against our people, property and holy sites, we want to draw you attention to the Israel and American plans that aim at dividing the Palestinian areas and people, and engaging them in civil war”, the statement reads.

The statement added that the national interests should be protected, and all factions should start comprehensive talks in order to preserve the Palestinian struggle for liberation and independence.

The statement also accused external parties of acting in order to foil the Palestinian democracy, and to create further conflicts among the Palestinians.

The institutions also stated that the Palestinians expect the international community and the Arab countries to help them in solidifying their unitys and reduce the gaps among them, instead of causing further tension or pushing for irresponsible acts and decisions that would only create further clashes.

The Institutions called on the Central Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) to act on order to unite all factions in order to achieve the Palestinian aspirations, and expressed concerns over the decisions taken by the Committee after its meeting last Wednesday and Thursday, since it considered these decisions as not coherent with the Palestinian aspirations of unity.

The institutions also stated that the Palestinians expect democratic and real reforms in the PLO, and expect the implantation of the Mecca Unity deal.

Furthermore, the institutions stressed on the importance of the geographical contiguity of all Palestinian areas, and stressed on the unity of all Palestinians factions in Palestine and in exile, and called for stopping all talks with the “Israeli occupation government especially since it is acting in order to increase tension among the Palestinians, and is still carrying assaults, invasions and violations to the international law”.
