"We call for all the parties to act moderately and to spend efforts to ease the tension in the face of critical condition which the Palestinian people are passing through," the statement reads.

The ministry also indicated that the ongoing clashes will tarnish the image of the Palestinian cause and that it is only the Palestinian people who will suffer, adding that a easing on the financial burden placed on the region would go some way to aiding the establishment of a lasting peace.

Finally, they called on the relevant parties to work on promoting unity for the purpose of maintaining peace and security in Palestine, and to solve political problems through the framework of National Unity Government.
