West Bank civilians and public officials detained

author Wednesday May 30, 2007 11:23author by Nisreen Qumsieh - IMEMC News Report post

The rampage of the Israeli army continued today in the West Bank where twelve Palestinian activists were abducted, according to reports. Seven of the kidnapped were from the Nablus area in northern West Bank.

Israeli troops invaded Beit Iba, west of Nablus city, searched homes, and kidnapped Khaled Ramadan, Mohammad Khayre Sama'ena, Mohammed Kheer Sama'ena, Kasem Qabala, Mohammad Nafek Sama'ena, and Rami Sama'ena, taking them to an unknown location.

In the town of Qabalan, south of Nablus, military force kidnapped the mayor, Fawaz Aqra'a, from his residence. Several months ago Israeli troops abducted another local official, who filled the mayor position back then.

During an Israeli military operation last Thursday, nine Palestinians of Nablus, including the legislator Jamal Al Terawe of the Balata refugee camp, were detained and taken away to an unknown location.
