The sources stated that Haitham and his brother Mohammad Abu Amro, both in their twenties, were killed, while a third resident was seriously injured during armed clashes. The causes of the clashes remained unknown.

Eyewitnesses stated that heavy gunfire took place at the coastal road linking Gaza and its southern part, and that the two brothers were killed in these clashes.

The third resident was killed in separate clashes that took place in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Moawiya Hassanen, head of the Emergency Unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, said that resident Hasan Abu Sharkh, 27, was killed in clashes that took place north of Gaza city.

The bodies of the two brothers, and the injured resident, were moved to Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza city, Maan added.

In a third attack on Sunday night, one security officer identified as Atef Ibrahim Suleiman, 40, was injured in Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Hassanen stated that gunmen shot Suleiman after attacking him and snatching his weapon; he was moved to Nasser hospital, in Khan Younis.
