The sources believed that the explosion took place when members of the Qassam brigades, the military wing of Hamas, were training at a camp of its own in the southern Gaza Strip city. Medical sources confirmed the death of one person, and the injury of eight others due to bomb shrapnel. The Qassam Brigades did not comment on the incident.
