The woman, Yosra Ahmad Al Rajabi, aged 60, from Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem, was seriously injured as she was attempting to bar the soldiers from abducting a Palestinian youth who was protesting against the excavations.

Medical sources in Jerusalem reported that soldiers repeatedly clubbed Al Rajabi on her head until she fell unconscious.

After the woman was announced dead, Israeli soldiers and policemen were intensively deployed in Beit Hanina and installed several roadblocks in the area.

Dozens of residents, family members and supporters gathered at the House of Al Rajabi and chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation, the illegal Israeli practices and attacks.
